Answer:
Red drums prey upon smaller fish such as anchovies and menhaden, as well as crabs and shrimp. Juveniles eat zooplankton and small invertebrates.
Explanation:
Feeding habits, seasonal diet variation, and predator size-prey size relationships of red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) were investigated in Galveston Bay, Texas through stomach contents analysis. A total of 598 red drums ranging from 291–763 mm in total length were collected and their stomach contents were analyzed during fall 1997 and spring 1998. The diet of red drum showed significant seasonal patterns and was dominated by white shrimp (Penaeus setiferus) during fall and gulf menhaden (Brevoortia Patronus) during spring. Blue crab (Callinectes sapidus) was an important component of red drum diets during both seasons. Significant differences existed between prey types consumed during fall and spring as the red drum diet reflected seasonal variation in prey availability. Predictive regression equations were generated to estimate the original carapace width of blue crabs from several measurements taken from carapace fragments recovered in red drum stomachs. Regressions were highly significant (r2>0.97) and increased the number of blue crabs with size information nearly threefold. Predator size-prey size relationships were determined for red drum feeding on white shrimp, gulf menhaden, and blue crab. Although regression slopes were statistically significant, prey sizes increased only slightly with increasing red drum size. Comparisons of prey sizes consumed by red drums with sizes occurring in the field indicate that red drums feed in nearshore shallow-water habitats, which serve as nursery areas for many juvenile fishes and crustaceans. Our findings demonstrate that red drums feed on several prey species of commercial and recreational value and may have important effects on estuarine community structure.

Summary of food pyramids in extreme detail!
Explanation:
The Food Pyramid is a visual representation of how different foods and drinks contribute towards a healthy balanced diet. The Food Pyramid allows individuals the flexibility to choose foods and drinks from each shelf depending on their food preferences. It organises foods and drinks into 5 main shelves, starting from the most important shelf on the bottom.
Shelf 1: Vegetables, Salad and Fruit (at least 5 to 7 servings a day). Base your meals on these and enjoy a variety of colours. More is better. Limit fruit juice to unsweetened, once a day.
Shelf 2: Wholemeal Cereals and Breads, Potatoes, Pasta and Rice (3–5 servings a day, up to 7 for teenage boys and men age 19–50). Wholemeal and wholegrain cereals are best. Enjoy at each meal.
Shelf 3: Milk, Yogurt and Cheese (3 servings a day and 5 from the age of 9 to 18) Choose reduced-fat or low-fat varieties. Choose low fat milk and yogurt more often than cheese. Enjoy cheese in small amounts.
Shelf 4: Meat, Poultry, Fish, Eggs, Beans and Nuts (2 servings a day) Choose lean meat, poultry (without skin) and fish. Eat oily fish up to twice a week. Choose eggs, beans and nuts. Limit processed salty meats such as sausages, bacon and ham.
Shelf 5: Fats, Spreads and Oils (In very small amounts) Use as little as possible. Choose mono or polyunsaturated reduced fat or light spreads. Choose rapeseed, olive, canola, sunflower or corn oils. Limit mayonnaise, coleslaw and salad dressings as they also contain oil. Always cook with as little fat or oil as possible – grilling, oven-baking, steaming, boiling or stir-frying.
Top Shelf: The revised Food Pyramid separates the Top Shelf from the rest of the pyramid. The Top Shelf includes foods and drinks high in fat, sugar and salt. These are not needed for good health and should not be consumed every day. Very small amounts once or twice a week maximum is sufficient.

It's important to use hard agar with soft agar overlay because The hard agar underneath the soft agar overlay is where you make a lawn streak of your bacteria.
What is plaque assay?
A trusted technique for determining viral concentration in relation to infectious dose is the plaque assay. In order to perform the test, a monolayer of virus-infected cells must be counted to determine how many plaque forming units (pfu) were generated.
When a virus-infected cell lyses, plaques form, which trigger a cycle of surrounding cell lysis and infection. Crystal violet staining of the preserved cell monolayer allows for the visualization of plaques.
The plaque assay was initially created as a virological assay to count and measure bacteriophage infectivity. Later, it was used to count viruses that infect mammals as well.
The technique's fundamental premise is to assess a single infectious virus' capacity to develop a "plaque" on a confluent monolayer culture of cells.
Therefore, It's important to use hard agar with soft agar overlay because The hard agar underneath the soft agar overlay is where you make a lawn streak of your bacteria.

Which structure pumps out excess water and wastes in a paramecium.
Answer:
Contractile vacuole
Explanation:
Contractile vacuole pumps out excess water and wastes in a paramecium.
The structure that pumps out excess water and waste in a paramecium is called the contractile vacuole. The contractile vacuole is a specialized organelle that collects excess water and waste materials from the cell and then contracts and pumps them out of the cell through a pore in the cell membrane.
What is water's role?Paramecium is a single-celled organism that belongs to a group of organisms called protists. Like other cells, a paramecium must maintain a proper balance of water and solutes inside its cell to function properly. However, because paramecia live in freshwater environments that have a lower solute concentration than the cell, water tends to move into the cell by osmosis. If too much water enters the cell, it can cause the cell to burst, so the paramecium has developed specialized structures to help regulate the movement of water.
Hence, the structure that pumps out excess water and waste in a paramecium is called the contractile vacuole. The contractile vacuole is a specialized organelle that collects excess water and waste materials from the cell and then contracts and pumps them out of the cell through a pore in the cell membrane.
